City Council · Don Valley East

Leadership that listens, then gets to work.

I’m Didi Moffat. I’m running for City Council because helping people has always been the point — and Don Valley East deserves a representative who is present, clear, and practical.

About Didi

Prepared to serve, grounded in community.

I studied International Affairs and Economics at the University of Toronto Mississauga, where I served on residence council — overseeing student initiatives and learning what it means to hold responsibility for other people’s day-to-day lives.

At Columbia University I studied Information Science and Contemporary Society, with additional work in global thought. That mix — public policy, economics, and technology — is how I approach city issues: listen carefully, explain plainly, and use modern tools without losing the human conversation.

The work

Three promises I will keep.

City Hall should not feel far away. These are the habits I will bring to the office from day one.

01

Clear updates

Regular, plain-language newsletters so you know what Council is deciding, why it matters on your street, and how to weigh in before the vote — not after.

02

Real listening

Well-designed community surveys and office hours, so we hear from more than the usual voices: renters, families, seniors, and people who work shifts that don’t match evening meetings.

03

Smarter follow-through

Feedback will be organized with modern analysis tools so patterns don’t get lost in inboxes. Technology in service of residents — never as a substitute for showing up.

How we’ll work

Your issues, treated with care.

Housing, transit, parks, and building management are not abstract files. They are whether the elevator works, whether the bus comes, and whether you feel safe walking home.

I will treat constituent mail like a duty, not a backlog. When the ward speaks, the office should be able to say what we heard — and what we did next.

Helping people is not a slogan for this campaign. It is the reason I am running.
